Trail Description: This is a very popular trail system that is gentle enough for the intermediate skill level, yet challenges the experienced. This is a very scenic trail that has hilly, rolling terrain and passes through a diverse forest of pine, aspen, birch, balsam fir, and northern hardwoods. Groomed for classic skiing and skating. There is a shelter with a fireplace at the trailhead. A National Forest parking fee is required. You can purchase a single day pass or an annual pass that covers a forest or region. The daily fee can be paid at the trailhead and an annual sticker can be purchased at the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest office (715-762-2461) at 1170 S. 4th Avenue/Hwy. 13 in Park Falls. Multiple vendors in the community also sell annual passes. Please call the USFS office for a current vendor list.

The Fifield Fire Lookout Tower trail is also located at the Wintergreen Trailhead and is a nice short 250 yard snowshoe hike.
