Crocker Hills Dog Sled Trail System

Trail Options:   Langlade County has developed a sled dog trail opportunity on a county forest road. Interest in sled dog trails has centered on the Evergreen Forest Management Unit. The trail head is located on Fraley Road and a public parking area is developed along with a restroom facility.

Trail Description: The Crocker Hills Horse and Dog Sled Trail System is located on Langlade County property and private property east of Antigo off Fraley Road in Elton. It is approximately 15.3 miles in length and offers a variety of trails and scenic beauty. The horse trail is located between Norway Lake and Evergreen Creek. In the northwestern portion of the trail steep hills and valleys afford the rider beautiful vistas of the northern hardwood complex. The trail facilities include a parking/primitive camping area and a pit toilet bathroom at the trailhead west of Fraley road. There is also water that can be obtained by a hand-pump. An open-air shelter is also located at the trailhead and has several tables on site. In the winter this trail system is used for dog sleds.
