Beaver Brook Ski Trail

Trail Description: Beaver Brook Ski Trail is a couple of miles south of Spooner off USH 53. It traverses the Beaver Brook Wildlife Area including Beaver Brook, a natural trout stream. In addition to its 10 plus kilometers of classically groomed trails, the area is also laced by a series of ungroomed snowshoe/walking trails which lend themselves comfortably to backcountry style/off track skiing. The terrain is generally rolling with several good hills and a couple of flatter loops. Although it is not far from civilization it is described as a good place to go to get a way from people. Despite a small amount of distant freeway noise, it has a removed feeling and is home to many deer and other wildlife. The backcountry skiing is on the west side of the trails as is a spring pond. The trails are well signed and it is easy to get to. Take Cranberry Marsh Road off USH 53 about one mile to the parking lot. There is no trail fee, but donations are accepted.
